One of our strongest areas of expertise is in saltwater fly fishing. Not what you might expect from a fly shop located in Central Oregon, but we have over 20 years experience fishing in beautiful locations around the world chasing a broad spectrum of saltwater game fish. Maybe it’s catching Roosterfish & Jack Crevalle off the warm sandy beaches on the east cape of Baja. It could be catching a striped marlin on the fly on the pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, or catching & releasing up to 20 or more sailfish per day on the fly, off the tropical coast of Guatemala. If your looking for steelhead, the John Day has still been kicking out a few fish when the water levels have been good.
A few good reports have come in for steelhead on the Hood River, as well as the Sandy River near Portland.
The Crooked River has been fishing very well with BWO's and small Beatis nymphs.
The Fall River has also been very good fishing with BWO's and Midge Patterns. Remember to fish above the Fall River Falls.
