Fishing the Middle Deschutes - in search of Skwalas
I went out to the middle deschutes over the weekend and had great fishing starting around 11. There were prolific March brown and BWO hatches starting around 1 and slowing down around 3, with skwala stoneflies appearing sporadically. Soon rainbows and suckers will begin spawning and egg patterns should be a good bet as well. Remember that state parks are closed, and always be sure that you aren’t trespassing if you find a way down to the river. Give us a call and we'll help you with where to go to practice Social Distancing! Josh
As springtime emerges in Oregon, there are magical times for anglers just around the corner on Oregon's Deschutes river. The world famous Salmon Fly hatch starts on the lower Deschutes around 1'st of May and moves upstream as the water warms until mid June.
