Polarized sunglasses are mostly a way to block out glare on the water, but they have other uses as well.  They can help you see fish, rocks, snags, or anything else under water much better than without them.  They block out UV rays, which are harmful to any part of your body but especially your eyes, and can protect your eyes from wayward hooks.  We have a few different brands of glasses at the shop.  Cocoons are wide and tall frames that are designed to go over your glasses you already wear.  We have inexpensive glasses from Fisherman Eyewear and more expensive but higher quality Sunclouds.  All are polarized.  The Suncloud glasses we carry at the shop are also optically correct lenses, meaning that they are spherically shaped to match the curve of your eye and thus eliminate the eye strain you can get when using lenses that are not optically correct.  Some of the Suncloud glasses have readers built in to them to help people with less than perfect eyesight tie on smaller flies without switching their glasses out.  The normal polarized Sunclouds also have different lens colors for different light conditions.  Basically, the brighter the lens, the more light it will filter out, and the duller the lens, the more contrast you will get.  What that means is that brighter color lenses are better for clear days, whereas lens colors that are more dull will be better for flat light days.   Come on in, check out our selection and up your game on the water!
